The plans for the new ‘South Holland Wellness Suite’ are to be put to consultation in the next few weeks.
It’s being funded by £20m of Levelling Up money secured from central government.
Coun Gary Taylor told a meeting of South Holland District Council last week: “It may seem it’s gone quiet a bit but a huge amount of work has gone on in the background to prepare for the project.
“The public consultation will take place shortly, at the end of March or early April. The date is to be confirmed.
“It will give residents the opportunity to find out more about the designs and proposals.
“The consultation starts with councillors at a briefing on March 13.
“We encourage as many residents as possible to get in touch with the consultation. For a long time we’ve lobbied for a new leisure centre.
“There’s been hopes and dreams that are now about to be turned into reality, so please make an effort to spread the word and take part in it.”
