Tydd enjoyed a brilliant 1-0 win over Moulton Harrox to boost their chances of avoiding relegation while denting the visitors’ title hopes.
A Maxwell Burrell strike in the 34-minute was enough to see second-from-bottom Tydd to victory in the Peterborough and District League Premier Division.
Moulton, who had Reece Crane sent off, remain second and just a point behind leaders Uppingham Town, who also lost 3-1 at home to Leverington Sports.
It’s incredibly tight at the top though with a host of sides still in with a chance having played a different amount of games.
Crowland Town, down in seventh, are still in with a shout of the title being eight points behind the leaders with four games in hand.
But they suffered a hugely damaging 3-2 loss to Oakham United on Saturday.
Corban Oldham and Nathan Pickering got the Crowland goals.
It’s tight towards the bottom too, where first half goals from Kyle Compton and Kieron McConnell saw Holbeach United Reserves to a potentially important 2-1 victory at Netherton United.
The result saw Holbeach jump above Netherton into the spot fourth from bottom on goal difference.
Netherton are a point above Tydd who have two games in hand on them.
