New £1.4m homes development in Pinchbeck is just the ticket for local residents

Local residents in need of housing were able to move into a special £1.4m development in Pinchbeck on Monday.

The 14 two and three bedroom energy efficient homes are in Maurice Chappell Way, named after the former chairman of Pinchbeck Community Land Trust – the village volunteers who set up the project.

The Westleigh Homes scheme is one of only two in Lincolnshire where properties are built specifically for local people in need of housing.
South Holland District Council was key in supporting delivery of the new homes, which will be managed by Lincolnshire Rural Housing Association.

image003Coun Christine Lawton, district council portfolio holder for housing (pictured right at the opening ceremony), said: “This is a ground-breaking project and it is a huge honour to have such an innovative community-led housing development in South Holland.
“The houses were specifically built to meet the needs of Pinchbeck people and the way they are managed will ensure they stay prioritised for local residents, their children and families in the future.
“The homes are a great addition to Pinchbeck, built by local people and for local people, and I look forward to seeing the tenants settling into their new homes.”
