Mercedes driver (78) killed in A17 crash

A 78-year-old woman, believed to be from Long Sutton, was killed in a crash on the A17 on Sunday.

The accident happened at Walpole Cross Keys at the junction with Sutton Road at about 1.20pm and involved two cars, a silver Mercedes and a black BMW.

The woman, who was driving the Mercedes, died at the scene.

Her name has not yet been released.

The male driver of the BMW received minor injuries.

The A17 was closed for over five hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Norfolk Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or witnessed the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the incident to contact their Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
