A man has been charged with five offences after a police chase in Long Sutton.
The incident happened shortly after midnight on Thursday, July 20.
The driver of a grey BMW X3 failed to stop after being asked by police who eventually deployed a stinger device to burst three of its tyers.
Three people were arrested for the incident.
Josh Lake, 30, of no fixed address has been charged with failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, possession of a controlled drug and no insurance. He was kept in custody to appear before Lincoln Magistrates today.
No further action will be taken against the 26 year-old-woman nor a 21 year-old man, though he was further arrested on behalf of Cambridgeshire Police in respect of two outstanding warrants.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “Just before 00.10 am, on Thursday July 20, our ARV officers spotted a grey BMW X3 on the A17 at Sutton Bridge.
“The driver failed to stop for police and a pursuit was authorised. The fleeing BMW was stopped in it’s tracks when it passed over a stinger device, near Long Sutton, and three of the vehicles’ tyres were deflated. Investigations have revealed the car was on cloned plates.
“This comes as we launch our road safety summer campaign which targets aggressive drivers, speeding, dangerous driving and overtaking and failing to look properly at junctions.
“This time of year we see the highest number of casualties on our roads and along with the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, we’re urging drivers to “have a little patience,”
