Local charity’s international help

A local charity is going international with its latest campaign as it looks to help parents with babies in a war zone.

Ella’s Project, set up by Mark Le Sage and named after his daughter, has teamed up with Boxes of Hope and Lincolnshire County Council’s Children’s Services, and is looking for donations of powdered baby formula, baby wipes and nappies.
Boxes of Hope, a Holbeach-based charity, has been sending aid to Ukraine following its invasion by Russia as well as helping refugee families settle in after fleeing the conflict.
Mark said the appeal followed conversations with Boxes Of Hope organiser Mandy Baxter who spoke of the need for the products in Ukraine.
The pair spoke at the recent Armed Forces Day parade where they marched with a flag that had been presented by Mandy to fighters on the front line at Bakhmut.
Mark said: “The community in South Holland has always been so supportive of our appeals and every now and again we get a specialist request for certain items.
“These items must be in sealed packaging as unfortunately we cannot use part used or opened bags or tins.”
Spalding Travel and the town’s Nat West branch are both collection points.
