Act II are live with the Sound of Music

There may not be any actual mountains to climb in these parts but that won’t stop Act II Theatre Company in their staging of The Sound Of Music this month.

This beloved musical comes to the South Holland Centre, featuring all the favourite Rodgers And Hammerstein classics, including Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, The Lonely Goatherd and So Long, Farewell, all performed by a cast of local young performers and backed by a 14 piece live orchestra.

Director Charlotte Gernert said: “The Sound Of Music is such a well-regarded show, and regularly tops polls of people’s favourite musicals. It’s appeal is timeless and enduring.

“We feel privileged to be able to add another chapter to the show’s illustrious history.”

The show takes place at the South Holland Centre from March 29 to April 1.

The shows on March 29 and 31 will feature the junior cast and March 30 and April 1 the senior cast.

In addition, there is a special ‘relaxed performance’ on the afternoon of April 1.
