Bus station work completed

South Holland District Council has completed £124,000 work on Spalding bus station and Winfrey Avenue car park.
The works, which started in late September, included resurfacing across both the station and the car park with a new heavy-duty Tarmac, as well as installing new line markings, signage and litter bins.
The bus shelters have all undergone a thorough deep clean, and a footpath along the Water Tower boundary of the site has been included.
There has also been curbing replacement and repairs to fencing as part of the investment.
Electric vehicle charging points will be installed in Winfrey Avenue car park, bringing the total number of council charging locations in the district to seven, with four in Spalding.
Coun Rodney Grocock, portfolio holder for assets and planning, said: “I am pleased to see these extensive improvement works completed, that will help make the bus station and neighbouring car park a safe, accessible and pleasant place for residents and visitors to use.
“This represents another significant investment by the council in a vital town centre asset, and is part of our ongoing commitment to improving the district’s infrastructure and key services, and making Spalding a more welcoming place to arrive in, whether for work, school, or to enjoy some of our fantastic local shops and businesses.”
