Male carers invited for breakfast

A charity is putting on special breakfasts for male carers in the district.

Carers First has been awarded a grant by Lincolnshire’s Community Asset Development Fund to provide multiple events and activities, specifically for male carers in the South Holland and Bourne areas during the next six months.

To start the events off Carers First are inviting local male carers to join them for a free breakfast to meet other carers, find out about support available to them and to provide input on future events.

A spokesman for the charity said: “Carers First works directly with, and for, thousands of unpaid carers, providing personalised information and tailored support in the way that suits them: online, on the phone, or face-to-face in their local community.

“With the help of Carers First supporters and volunteers, they can continue to be there for carers, helping them find balance, and to live their lives to the fullest – today, and for years to come.”

The breakfasts are:
* Monday, September 26, 10am-12pm: Vine House Farm Café, Deeping St Nicholas.
* Tuesday September 27, 10am-12pm: Café Aurora, High St, Holbeach.
* Thursday September 29, 10am-12pm: Co-op Café, Long Sutton.
* Thursday September 29, 9.30am-11.30am: The Ivy Wall, Spalding.
* Thursday September 29, 9.30am-11am: The Stage, Market Deeping.
* Tuesday October 4, 9.30am-11am: The Ginger Fox Café, Bourne.

Anyone who would like to go along to one of Carers First free breakfasts for male carers, can email lincssouthevents@carersfirst.org.uk or call the helpline on 0300 3031555.
