Ideal chance to Give It A Go

The area’s Give It A Go Day has been hailed a huge success with more than 1,000 people visiting.

Organised by the South Holland District Council’s Communities Team, the event took place at the Sir Halley Stewart Field in Spalding, and saw a number of groups and organisations in attendance.

The idea behind the day was to give visitors the chance to try a new sport or activity.

There was also a Chairman’s Charity Football Match between Whaplode Drove Rovers and Peterborough Park Farm Pumas.

The score was 6-5 to Park Farm Pumas and donations to the event totalled £470 which will go to the SHDC chairman Paul Redgate’s chosen charity of CPSL Mind.

Activities on the day included the Rock School Bus, woodturning, volleyball, karate, rugby, boxing Club, target shooting, dancing, American football, music, Tae Kwon-Do, bowls, a climbing wall, crazy golf and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.
