LETTERS – People should be proud

Our local communities should be proud of how they made the truly amazing effort to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

From the effort of all local schools, to the lighting of beacons, street parties, picnics, parties, window displays and family gatherings.

My family and I have spent the past weekend attending as many jubilee events and commitments as possible.

It was great to see so many people from all age groups coming together to celebrate such a special historic occasion.

Local celebrations and events are continuing with the 1950s event at Ayscoughfee on Saturday, July 23. I hope many people can attend this special event at the historic hall and gardens and this positive local community spirit continues throughout the remainder of this jubilee year and beyond.
