A driver who was almost three times over the legal alcohol limit was found asleep at the wheel, a court has heard.
Edgaras Rainys, 33, of Queens Road admitted driving with excess alcohol as well as having no insurance
or driving licence when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.
Prosecuting, Shelley Wilson said police had been informed on May 2 about a possible drunk driver and found Rainys asleep in a Vauxhall Astra car parked on the footpath in High Road, Moulton Chapel at 11.30pm.
She said the police had to make numerous attempts to rouse him but eventually were able to do so and he was arrested after he provided a positive breath test.
Ms Wilson said a later test at the police station gave a reading of 102 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath, the legal limit being 35.
The court heard Rainys told police he did not know why he was driving or why he was where the police had found him.
She said enquires also revealed he had no driving licence or insurance for the car. Rainys, who had no previous convictions and was not represented in court, told the magistrates the car did not belong to him.
Rainys was banned from driving for two years and was ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid work for the community.
He was also ordered to pay a total of £180 in court costs and charges
