Anglian Water announce latest measures to find out what’s wrong with continuously sinking Holbeach road

Anglian Water say it’s to carry out more surveys along with strengthening of the sewer as the search for answers to stop a Holbeach road sinking continues.

The company says it’s to carry out the works on Boston Road South while the road is currently closed by Lincolnshire County Council’s Highways team.

An Anglian Water spokesman: “We have confirmed some proactive investment to ensure the resilience of our sewer, which we will be undertaking while Highways already have the road closed in order to minimise disruption for local residents and road users.

“Ahead of the main work to reline the sewer in the coming months, we have now booked in a CCTV survey and jet cleaning for May 9.

“This programme of work will strengthen the network and hopefully come as good news for everyone.”

Coun Tracey Carter told Holbeach Parish Council recently: “There’s ha been a great deal of investigation going on from Anglian Water, from LCC, everybody.

“We are literally looking at everything under that road from Cecil Pywell Avenue, right up to the school, so the whole area.

“There’s the resources, skill and money is available so there is every will at LCC to get this sorted once and for all.

“I know residents are feeling like nothing is happening, but that isn’t the case.

“There’s a lot of investigation going on and until they’ve find out the root of whatever is going on under there, it’s not being done and redone over.

“It needs to be investigated and a lot of activity is happening there.

“There’s a strong relationship between LCC and Anglian Water.”
