Woman defrauded ‘substantial sums of money’

A 49-year-old woman has appeared in court on four charges of fraud against a number of people over a three year period.

Emma Harris, whose address was withheld for legal reasons, admitted four allegations of committing
fraud by false representation between January 2017 and February 16 2020.

It was said that three different people and a married couple from Spalding were the victims from whom Harris had defrauded substantial sums of money by falsely telling them she had various financial problems.

District Judge Peter Veits, sitting at Boston Magistrates Court, sent Ms Harris to Lincoln Crown Court for sentence on a date to be arranged and granted her unconditional bail.
