LETTERS – I wasn’t cycling on footpaths

I note some feedback in your paper from Mr Bingham, Park Road Spalding, regarding my letter and some mis-information from myself.

I stated that I had used as many cycle paths as I could and my route was from Crowson motors, Enterprise Way, Pinchbeck Road and Park Road.

I hope I did not give the impression that I was riding on the footpaths but did find the routes and signage confusing. Is there a map available?

He points out that Park Road is for pedestrians and the cycle path ends at the top of Enterprise Way.

This is the whole point, we have a stop start system poorly made up as opposed to a better, safer linked in route that really is for cyclists and pathways for walkers.

As it is currently, I will use the roads not the cycle paths.

I have since written to our local MP Sir John Hayes regarding funding for better facilities and have invited several groups to come together for the benefit of all concerned.

I thank Mr Bingham for his points and hope he joins the campaign for better facilities for cyclists, walkers and not forgetting wheelchair-users.

As I sympathise with Maureen Gladden as a wheelchair-user finding it difficult to negotiate blocked pathways and general poor access for wheelchair-users.

Again, I would gladly join other interested parties to discuss initiatives for a better way forward for all.
