Sir John Hayes MP has pledged his support for the Long Live the Local campaign to help pubs and breweries in South Holland and The Deepings recover and thrive.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on brewers and pubs and continues to do so as the sector tries to kickstart its recovery.
Sir John is calling on the Government to lower VAT and business rates for pubs and for an overall reduction in beer duty.
He said: “Pubs are at the beating heart of villages and towns. Locals often boast of unique histories and stories inseparable from the communities they serve – with each closure the United Kingdom loses a little piece of its identity.
“Pubs have borne a disproportionate burden as a result of the pandemic; I’m calling on the Chancellor to protect this resource.”
