Saturday football: No so three-sy for Tulips, Tigers and Pinchbeck but Earth fires five for seven-up Moulton

It was a bad day at the office for South Holland’s non-league sides as Spalding United, Holbeach United and Pinchbeck United all suffered sound league beatings on Saturday.

The Tulips went down 3-0 at home to Pitching In NPL Midlands Division high-fliers Halesowen Town, while in the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division Holbeach United were beaten 3-0 at Leicester Nirvana and Pinchbeck United lost 3-1 at Heanor Town.

Starting with Spalding, they had new signing Enoch Opayinka (from Pinchbeck) on the bench, but proved no-match for the league leaders.

Goals from Simoen Cobourne (16), Ahmed Ali (39) and Kyle Finn (50) gave Halesowen a comfortable 3-0 success at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

Gab Zakuani’s side remain ninth despite the defeat.

In the UCL, Holbeach’s quest for a first league win of the season continues after their winless run stretched to 12 games.

The Nirvana goals came from Jordan Nelson (42 & 68) and Reece Giles (45) as Gary Frost’s Tigers suffered a tenth league loss of the campaign and stay bottom.

Pinchbeck’s loss at Heanor sees them fall to 15th, just four points clear of the second relegation spot.

There was some good news in the Lincs FA Junior as Moulton Harrox battered Louth Town Reserves 7-0.

Declan Earth starred with an amazing five goals, while Ash Coddington and Reif Clarke also netted.

Crowland Town are out, though, after a 2-0 defeat at Deeping Rangers Reserves.

Also exiting are Tydd and Crowland Reserves, who lost 3-2 and 9-2 against North Somercotes and Point First respectively.
