Dog killed and man injured after being attacked by group of teens

A man in his 60s was left injured and one of his pet dogs died after an attack by a group of teens in Spalding on Monday.

The incident occurred along the Coronation Channel near to Pecks Drove shortly after 11am.

A spokesman for South Holland Police said: “An investigation has began after a group of young men 13 to 16-years-old attacked a male in his 60s who was walking his dogs along the riverbank.

“The victim received minor injuries but sadly one of his dogs has passed away after it was attacked by one of the groups dog.

“We are appealing for witnesses who may have been along the Coronation Channel near to Pecks Drove, Spalding on Monday February 15 between 11am and 11.45am.

“We will be completing extra patrols along the Coronation Channel and ask anyone to speak to us if they have any information which can help our inquiries.
