LETTERS – Could large shops be turned into a market?

Sadly, like many other towns these days, the busy hustle and bustle of shopping has gone.

I visualise people living where shops used to be.

Thinking of a better future, I wonder if it would be possible to make use of the area the large empty shops have created by providing an all-weather covered market for all kinds of traders. Food outlets, coffee shops, public conveniences etc. could perhaps be included.

Large shops seem to have had their day, yet, this could possibly bring back into town the traders, shoppers and indeed the life, when we get out of this dreadful virus.
