A call has gone out to local businesses who may be able to help a historic building.
The Cemetery Chapels in Holbeach has a leaking roof and initial estimates are that it could cost £30,000 to fix.
The 1854 brick built buildings connected by a stone archway and tower are owned by Holbeach Parish Council.
Plans are in place to potentially turn it into an education centre and wedding venue, but the council heard the roof will need to be fixed soon so as not to damage the rest of the building.
Coun Isobel Hutchinson raised the issue at the Holbeach Parish Council meeting on Monday night.
“The problem with the roof means its leaking quite badly,” she said. “If it’s a case of a new roof being needed than we might need to get planning permission and that would lead to costs being a lot higher.
“In the meantime we’d like to get a tarpaulin to try and provide a short term fix.”
Coun Kelly Wilson: “I wonder if any businesses have a tarpaulin they could donate or that might want to donate something towards the roof.”
