The NHS have said Lincolnshire ‘will have full geographical coverage for its registered population’ for the COVID-19 vaccine amid reports an administering site will be set up at Springfields in Spalding.
After there were no South Holland sites in the initial list of primary care roll outs of the Astra Zeneca/Oxford vaccine The Voice has been contacted by members of the public stating local GP surgeries had told them a vaccine site was due to open at Spingfields.
And the leader of South Holland District Council, Lord Gary Porter, has tweeted today (Friday) that he’d been told it would be open a week tomorrow (Saturday, January 16).
A spokesperson for the Lincolnshire Care Commissioning Group told The Voice that ‘it was not in a position to confirm the locations of the additional sites at this stage’ but continued: “It’s important to note that Lincolnshire will have full geographical coverage for its registered population.”
Earlier today Lord Porter tweeted: “Unconfirmed (but trusted source) says the vaccine roll out will start at Springfield’s on Saturday, January 16, although no idea of the number of doses.
“Also our GPs are geared up to roll out locally, but again no idea of doses. @NHSEngland just publish what the plan is please.”
