Annie has the top card

Nine year old Annie Clough from South View Community Primary School has been chosen as the winning artist for South Holland District Council’s Chairman’s Christmas Card Competition.

The Council had invited primary school pupils from across the District to send in their best festive designs and ideas for the card, which is sent out every year to partners on behalf of the council chairman.

Picking from a fantastic variety of entries, councillors and staff from the Council’s Democratic Services team chose Annie’s design as the lucky winner, depicting festive penguins on a snowy background. The runners up were E Cullingford from Moulton Chapel Primary School and Kace from Gosberton House Academy.

Vice-Chairman, councillor Paul Redgate, said: “It’s always great to find new ways to get younger people engaging with the Council, and the response to this year’s competition has been fantastic, with some wonderful entries to choose from.

“Hopefully the colourful and fun winning design will bring a smile to the face of everyone who receives it, which we all need after a difficult year. I’d like to thank everyone who decided to take part for their creativity, and to congratulate Annie on her masterpiece.”
