Helicopter used in police manhunt in Deeping St Nicholas

A police helicopter was drafted in to trace an occupant of a car involved in a crash in Deeping St Nicholas on Saturday night.

Officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision in Hay Barn Road just after 9pm.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa had collided with a lamppost and the driver/passenger had left the scene. It’s understood that a campervan which was also involved left the scene.

Police said: “A 22-year-old man from Crowland, suspected of being the driver of the Corsa, was later arrested after providing a positive breath test. He was bailed until October.
“An 18-year-old man from Gedney Hill, suspected of being the passenger in the Corsa, was detained and arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. He later received a caution.”
