Appeal after woman and child left hospitalised by traffic collision

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information after an accident on the A17 yesterday (Monday) left a woman and a child in hospital.

The incident happened at around 3.30pm just south of Fosdyke Bridge and involved a blue Ford Fusion and a red Vauxhall Zafira.

The woman’s injuries are described as “serious” by police while a child that was in the same car as her suffered minor injuries.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage following a two-vehicle RTC on the A17 yesterday afternoon, Monday October 5.

“At approximately 3:37pm, we received a report of a two-vehicle collision just south of Fosdyke Bridge.

“The vehicles involved were a blue Ford Fusion and a red Vauxhall Zafira.

“The Ford was heading towards Sutterton while the Zafira was heading towards Holbeach.

“The female passenger in the Ford was taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries.

“A young child from the same vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.

“The driver and passenger of the Vauxhall Zafira were uninjured.

“The road was closed just after 4pm and was reopened at 9:40pm.

“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.”
