Chris is an ‘Educator Expert’

A Spalding Grammar School teacher has been selected as one of handful of people to help others in the profession with their IT skills.

Chris Harris (pictured),of Moulton Seas End, has been selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for 2020-21.

It is a program where Microsoft select educators can demonstrate a wide range of skills with its educational technology and use it to the benefit of students and staff at their school.

Chris, who is the head of subject for computer science and IT at the Grammar School, said: “I would like to be able to have other teachers and schools in the local area be able to ask me about how teachers will benefit from joining the program themselves.

“It is a program that I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from and sharing my skills with teachers here at SGS, and the real benefit has been gradually improving the way we were able to teach through the school shutdown.

“I hope that I can share some learning with other school leaders and teachers around the area so that they can see the benefits.

“My aim is to make a difference for students beyond my own school gates.”
