Spalding drug dealer jailed

A Spalding drug dealer has started a three-year jail term.

Paulo Tiago Marques-Pintor was sentenced at a Lincoln Crown Court hearing on Monday. The 21-year-old, of Pennygate, had failed to answer bail and appeared in custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Last November he appeared before Boston Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.

The drugs were cocaine (class A, approximate value £2,000), MDMA (class A, £500), cannabis (class B, £290) and amphetamine (class B, £90). He also admitted a charge of possessing criminal property (£1,890 cash).

The offences took place on July 23, 2018.

On Monday, Marques-Pintor was sentenced to three years for the two class A drugs offences, nine months for the cannabis and six months for the amphetamine. All of the sentences are to run concurrently.

He was also given nine months for acquiring criminal property and one month for failing to surrender to bail. Again, the sentences will run concurrently.

A Proceeds of Crime Act hearing was set for July 1.
