Three people assault man they called ‘immigrant’

Police are appealing for information after an assault in Spalding that’s being treated as a hate crime.

Three offenders reported to be on push bikes assaulted a victim outside the Castle Sports Complex in Spalding between 5.40pm and 6.30pm, Lincolnshire Police say.

The victim received minor injuries.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information about an assault on Saturday.

“The assault occurred outside Castle Sports Complex, Albion Street, Spalding.

“Three offenders, who were reported to be on push bikes, assaulted the victim who received minor injuries.

“As reference was made by the offenders to the victim being an immigrant, we are treating this as a hate crime.”
