Lincolnshire hospitals treating nine for Covid-19 – four in Pilgrim

The number of people confirmed to have Covid-19 and being treated in Lincolnshire Hospitals has risen to nine, with four of those being treated in the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston.

A spokesman for United Lincolnshire Hospitals said: “We can confirm that we are treating nine patients with confirmed COVID-19 in our hospitals.

“Four are being cared for at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and five are at Lincoln County Hospital. Every infection prevention precaution is being taken, including caring for these patients in isolation.

“Our staff caring for the patients are trained and equipped to do so safely. “

It’s not known if anybody has died from having the virus in Lincolnshire nor how many have recovered.

South Holland District Council, district councillor Roger Gambba-Jones, said: “For those who think it’s not going to reach us here. 9 patients now being treated for Covid19 at Lincs hospitals. 5 being treated at Lincoln County Hospital.

“4 being treated at Boston Pilgrim, according to Trust. 20 people have tested positive for virus as of Tues 24 Mar.”
