Visitors to Spalding’s St Paul’s Primary School stepped back in time over the weekend.

The school hosted a medieval festival, organised by James Farrar, who has three children there.

This is the second time James has put on the event and although numbers were up on last year, he was still a little disappointed with the turnout.

He said: “We could have done with a few more visitors but we’re still hoping to have made about £850 for the school.

“The money will be handed over to the PTA which will decide how is best to spend it.

“It was a great weekend and those who came along really enjoyed themselves.”

Attractions over the weekend included a national team from Battle of Nations, a 15th Century knights tournament, Norman knights and talks and demonstrations on medieval folk, magic and medicine.

There was also an archery range where people could have a go.
