Excited Holbeach United boss John Chand has already snapped up four impressive signings for next season.

Chand, who returned to Carter’s Park just over two weeks ago, has agreements with Jonny Allen, Adam Jackson, Tom Roberts and Gary King.

Versatile defender Allen, left back Jackson and keeper Roberts all join from UCL Premier Division champions Spalding United, while striker King lists Stamford, Grantham Town, Deeping Rangers and the Tulips among his former clubs.

The Tigers boss is also hoping to bring ex-Tulip Danny Steadman and Skegness-based winger Kurt Crossley to the club. Former title-winning skipper Jamie Stevens is also a target after leaving Spalding United on Wednesday.

Chand has also spoken to Deeping trio Craig Parker, Mitch Griffiths and Dan Flack, but won’t have an answer from them until they’ve spoken to their manager Tuncay Korkmaz.

Chand said: “I’ve spoken to a lot of players and things are really starting to take shape. We’ve got agreements with a number of players, but there’s plenty still to do.

“It’s obviously great to have tempted Jonny and Adam back, I’m sure the fans will be pleased to see them at Carter’s Park again.

“The UCL seems to have evolved a bit while I was away and negotiations have been tough. But I’m very pleased with how things are coming along.”

Chand is also looking for somebody to join him in the dugout after Steve Appleby decided that he didn’t have the time to work alongside him as co-boss.

Bedford Town’s Luigi Rocco is among the names in the frame.
