Bakkavor employees’ £1,000 for cancer charity

Office workers from Bakkavor in Spalding have presented a cheque for £1,000 to their chosen charity for 2015.

The firm’s Group Services employees nominate a charity each year that has made a difference to their own families and is close to their hearts. The choice was Teenage Cancer Trust.

The trust has 28 units across the UK, including Leicester and Nottinghamshire, which support teenagers from this region.
The money was raised through various activities, including quizzes, a book sale and raffle.
Funds were also collected from their Christmas lunch buffet and a very successful DVD swap.

Jo Cullen, representing the staff, said: “It is really important to us that we support a charity that provides essential services for the people that work alongside us who are personally affected by difficult life circumstances.
“We hope our fundraising efforts can help Teenage Cancer Trust with the fabulous work it does for young people.”
