Youth Centre begins to reopen

Gosberton Youth Centre is getting read to reopen after its revamp over the summer.

A new committee has taken on the building as they look to bring it back after its transformation to house had previously been mooted.
Those behind it say they’ve been overwhelmed by offers of help from the community.
A spokesman for the Gosberton Youth Centre said: “The support from volunteers has been overwhelming with a number already DBS cleared and ready for the forthcoming relaunch of the Youth Hub.
“We have had a number of very kind donations and grant support, which we are extremely grateful for and once we have a date for the relaunch, we shall be making a full public thank you to them all and inviting them to see how we have implemented their support.
“We would however like to say a really BIG thank you to Spalding Roundtable for their support and for the donation of a number of items of equipment to help support the relaunch of the Youth Hub.”
The group are working up to a Senior and Junior Youth Hub sessions opening every Friday.
They’ve started to reopen for other groups.
This Saturday (November 4), the Gosberton Community Hub is launching described as a ‘safe warm space for the community’. It will run on the first Saturday of each month between 10am and 2pm.
The first drink on launch day is to be free of charge.
Among those attending are mental health support workers, crafts for children and a community gift shops.
They will also be holding a special Christmas Open Day for the venue on Sunday, December 3 from 2pm to 4pm.
The Kirton Brass Band will be playing a range of seasonal tunes and there will be a host of stalls and games to be held.
Wednesday night bingo will continue and a Saturday night bingo has been added on the first Saturday of each month.
A spokesman said:”With the maintenance and refurbishment that has taken place to date, the centre is a fantastic place which is now available for hire.”
