Youngsters lead way at Crowland

Youngster Louie Hemmings took the honours at the weekly Snowden Field Parkrun in Crowland on Saturday.

The junior 11-14 Peterborough & Nene Valley athlete completed the 5K course in 17 minutes 43 seconds, more than two minutes clear of March AC’s Serge Lambert, a junior 15-17 runner, in second place.
Richard Williams was the highest-placed Spalding runner, with the Halmer Harrier finishing ninth in 24:28. Simon Eldridge was 26th of the 66 runners in 28:16.
Adam Caress came 17th of 262 finishers, 19:59, at the Bug Hunter Waters Parkrun near Cambridge, while two pairs of the Spalding-based club were in action elsewhere.
Jayne Pell was 121st at the Shipley Country Parkrun in Heanor, 37:35, with Kathryn Chapman three places further back of 142 runners at the Derbyshire event in 38:29.
At Ferry Meadows in Peterborough, Janet Strickland clocked 29:33 for 259th place and Deborah Preston, 30:08, was 276th of the 528 runners.
