Young heroes host great Baytree bake sale

Young volunteers raised an amazing £300 for charity on Tuesday (August 13) when they ran a bake sale at Baytree Nurseries as part of the National Citizen Scheme for school leavers.

Project Manager Mackenzie Toner (16) said the group had to plan a fundraiser and chose between them a bake sale and all baked their own cakes.

This was just one of many activities as part of the NCS scheme, including camping and coding.

Mackenzie said he’d recommend the four-week scheme and said it’s been great fun.
