Young Farmers dig in at station

Members of the Spalding and District Young Farmers group have been digging in for their community.

They joined the Friends of Spalding Station recently to help with the upkeep of the gardens there designed to give a positive welcome to the town.

Jan Whitbourn, chair of South Holland District Council, also a member of the Friends group, said: “It was great to have some help and to make some improvements in our garden.

“Any help is gratefully received.

“A massive thanks must also go to Peter Ruysen who has gone above and beyond this year to help us make the station so much more enjoyable and look better for us all to enjoy.”

Meanwhile, the model rabbit at the station has been decked out for the winter in Spalding United’s colours.

“We have decided to cross promote our local football club as they push for promotion to the National League,” said Jan.
