Holbeach branch of the Royal British Legion’s two-yearly visit to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire was aptly just two days after the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.

Also on the trip were members of other branches and Holbeach and Long Sutton ACF detachments under the command of branch member Sgt Andy Wicks.
At the Armed Forces Memorial, wreaths were laid for Holbeach, Fleet and Wainfleet branches. Sgt Wicks laid a personal wreath for a friend killed in Afghanistan.
Holbeach branch secretary Roger Green said: “It was such a successful ceremony that we were asked to congratulate the cadets for their conduct and demeanour.
“It was a successful day, with much learned. If you have never been, the NMA is a wonderful place of reflection, remembrance and tranquillity, and well worth visiting.”
