Work to start on replacing old bridge

Work is expected to start on replacing the damaged Bedford Bridge at Quadring Eaudyke.
The northern side of the bridge partially collapsed in late 2019 and was temporarily repaired.
A full replacement is scheduled to be installed with a wider bridge and concrete parapets.
Work is due to start on Monday, October 4 and is expected to last nine weeks. Water Gate will be closed between Sarah Gate and Wood Lane and there will be a diversion in place through Quadring and Gosberton.
Access to properties will be maintained, but there will be no route over the drain during the works.
