Woolsey’s off with a win

Moulton Harrox under 16s gave a fitting send off to manager Phil Woolsey with a 7-0 thrashing of Spalding United, reports Freddie Auston.
From the outset the hosts faced an uphill battle against a strong Moulton side.
First half goals from Bobby England, Callum Pratt and Ozzy Livermore left the game dead and buried before half-time.
Spalding struggled to get a foot in during the first half, only managing two shots at goal, compared to Moulton’s 16.
The second half was much the same. Moulton continued their dominance of possession with goals from England, Pratt, Harry Inglis and Finley Berry taking the travelling side’s lead to seven.
The young Spalding side’s heads never dropped, however, with the boys creating a lot more chances and showing of some of their undoubted quality in the second half. Unfortunately for the home side they were never able to capitalise on any of their opportunities.
A goalkeeper change for Moulton and some people playing in newer and unfamiliar positions caused them to lose their killer instinct in the final third, resulting in no more goals in the last 10 minutes.
Overall, it was a routine win for Moulton Harrox, who will be looking to build on a strong end to the season going into their u18s campaign in the summer.
