Woods wins Tydd St Giles charity competition

Chris Woods was on fine form to win Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s charity Stableford competition.

The 13 hole competition took place on Tuesday, December 18 with Woods taking the win with 32 points among the aged over 60 golfers.

The competition was followed by an excellent carvery lunch, the day was concluded by a presentation of a cheque to Make Them Smile children’s charity which is the seniors’ chosen charity for 2018.

Make Them Smile is a national registered charity which raises funds to help children under the age of 18 year with a wide range of adverse medical conditions.

Crystal Eggleston trustee for the charity received a cheque of £3,613, which included a donation of £500 from club captain Vinney Day’s captains charity, Crystal was also pleased to receive two collection tins for the charity that had not been counted. She thanked all for their support and generosity.

Organiser Roy Pesterfield was also pleased to announce that over the last year the senior section had raised a grand total of £4,546 for charities including Cancer Research, the Air Ambulance and Make Them Smile.
