Women’s team create a splash on their debut

After 10 years of trying, Spalding Water Polo Club finally managed to field a women’s team.

And it was a success with the fledgling squad chalking up a 14-9 victory over Cambridge in their first outing.

As an added boost, the club have been nominated for club of the year by Swim England.

Club spokesman Mark Le Sage said: “It is a fantastic achievement and testament to the club’s
50-plus year history.

“It’s a very exciting time and it’s all down to the hard work of the coaching staff, the management team and total commitment of the players to bring success to our fabulous club.”

The club are seeking sponsors and anyone interested can contact Le Sage, 07961 521727.
