Woman banned for drink driving

A 23-year-old woman who police were told had driven drunk after visiting a Spalding nightclub has been banned from driving.

Darcy Beresford Palmer of Old Main Road, who admitted the offence of driving with excess alcohol, was found in her Mini One at Holbeach Road McDonalds at 4.30am on November 14 and was arrested after providing a positive breath test.

A later test at the police station showed a reading of 67 microgrammes of alcohol in her breath, the legal limit being 35.

Mitigating, Philippa Chatterton said Ms Beresford Palmer was ‘devastated’ at getting a criminal conviction and handed a letter from her to the Boston magistrates.

She was banned from driving for 18 months but was offered the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course, which will reduce the period of the ban by 18 weeks.

She was also fined £250 and ordered to pay a total of £119 in court costs and charges.
