Woman (75) left distressed after walking stick taken

A 75-year-old woman has said she was left disgusted after saying someone stole her walking stick.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, says she was ordering food in Curtis’s in Market Place, Spalding around 10.30am on Wednesday, February 2, when someone took the fold-up stick.

The woman, who was in town to volunteer at a nearby charity shop, said: “I was at the counter waiting for my lunch to be prepared and someone came in and took it. By the time it came to leaving, it was gone.

“I’ve a problem with my right hip which means I have to use one and had to hobble to the shop I volunteer at.

“I always thought Spalding was a quite law abiding place but then something like this happens to you.

“I’ve been back to Curtis’s on several occasions to see as I thought it might be a genuine mistake, but obviously not as they’ve not taken it back.”
