Wolstenholme and Newton help Harrox to opening day win.

A second-wicket stand of 126 between opener Blake Wolstenholme (75) and Josh Newton (56) formed the backbone of Moulton Harrox’s opening day win over Burghley Park in the South Lincs Border League Championship.

They went on to score 198/9 from their 45 overs with only Matthew Rose (13) joining them in reaching double figures.
In reply, things looked rosey when the hosts were reduced to 17/4 and 93/7 but tricky lower order knocks from captain Alex Ashwin (53) and David Platt (39) dragged things out before they succumbed for 174 in the 42nd over.
Rose did the bulk of the damage, with 5-28 from his nine overs, while Lee Eyett weighed in with 3-16 from 3.1 overs.
Moulton’s Second XI enjoyed a comfortable
nine-wicket success in Division Two at Belton Park.
Curtis Todd ripped through the Grantham team’s middle order to reap a 5-7 haul from seven overs as the hosts were reduced to 48 all out with their top scorer making only 10.
Jamie Juckes led the swift romp to victory with an unbeaten 33 as his team passed their target in the 12th over.
