Witness appeal after A17 crash proves fatal

A man has died following Monday night’s A17 crash at Long Sutton in which a car hit the central reservation.

The 28-year-old man was taken to hospital with the car’s driver, a woman in her 30s on Monday night (September 23).

Police today said the man has died and are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage.

A police spokesman said: “The man was a passenger in a blue Mazda which collided with the central reservation. The car was being driven by a woman in her 30s, east in the direction of Sutton Bridge. Sadly the passenger died in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, September 25.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle lose control, or anyone who was travelling on the A17 around that time, who may have seen the blue 08 plate Mazda prior to the collision.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who has recorded dashcam footage while travelling along the A17 between Long Sutton and Holbeach prior to the collision.”
