Wins for top two in Spalding Sunday League

The top two in the Spalding and District Sunday League both picked up wins going into the division’s Christmas break.

Leaders by virtue of a better goal difference are Sutton St James who were 5-3 winners over Pinchbeck United Sunday.

Doubles from Jack Murley and Joseph Sutton plus a Bradley Fox goal kept up the home side’s perfect record so far this season with nine wins out of nine.

Jake Holland, Leon March and Daniel Drage netted for Pinchbeck.
Level on points with Sutton, but having played a game more, are Jubilee.

Martin Sandall scored four goals and Declan Earth three as Jubilee kept up the pressure on the leaders by winning 8-4 at home to Fosdyke

Matthew Barnett also netted for the home side who have only dropped points so far in a 3-1 defeat to the leaders.

Fourth placed Mulberry downed sixth placed Up The Fish 6-2.

A Bede Finnigan hat-trick, a Gavin Phillips brace and a Ryan Mill strike gave the away side the win.

The scheduled game between Long Sutton Athletic Sunday and South Holland United FC was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch
