Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s B team made a winning start to their South Lincolnshire Scratch League season as they beat Toft Hotel 3.5-2.5.
Wins came from Andy Hicks and Will Woodrow (7&6), James Horscroft and Andy Sleath (2&1) and Terry Pease & Derek Hodgson (5&3), as Tydd shaded a very close contest.
There was also a crucial half from Peter Wheeler and Ian Larman at the Tydd course, while Vaughan Dibble and Jimmy Woods (3&1) and Tim Hipkin and Terry Alcock (3&2) both lost.
- Peter Wheller topped the Division One leaderboard in Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s April Medal (senior section).
His score of 68 was five shots better than second-placed rival Lee Smith.
