Wind farm consultation launches

A consultation has been launched over a potential new wind farm which could be connected to current infrastructure in South Holland.

Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind Farm is consulting with the public over its plans.

The wind turbines themselves will be 54km off the coast north east of Skegness, though the underground cables could connect to the existing overhead line circuits at Weston Marsh just north of Spalding.

The other proposed connection would be via a new substation being created east of Alford.

The company is gathering views on its website www.outerdowsing.com while physical copies can be obtained from South Holland District Council when its open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Full details of the consultation process and events being held are on page 27 of this week’s Spalding Voice.
