Wind farm community benefit fund: Apply now for up to £5,000 grant

Small, not-for-profit community groups operating within ten miles of The Grange Wind Farm site, near Tydd St Mary, should apply now for a grant of up to £5,000.

The Community Benefit Fund, which is generated by The Grange Wind Farm located between Sutton Bridge and Tydd St Mary, is in its fourth year of awarding around £30,000 annually to fund individual projects that meet local criteria: community cohesion, young people, old people and community facilities.

To date, the panel has awarded funding to enable community venues to improve their buildings (new heating, roofing, windows and doors) as well as funds to deliver local services – a grant for a community allotment; new equipment for sports activities for older people, equipment and resources for a local pre-school, a new outdoor wildlife and environmental area, storage facilities etc.

It is unlikely that grants will be awarded for annual running costs, unless your group needs some funding for a new activity or idea.
Priority will be given to worthwhile projects within five miles.

Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service can help advise if this is the fund for you and direct you to other options if it is not. Call 01205 510888 or email [email protected].

For an application form contact Sue Fortune at Lincolnshire Community Foundation on 01529 305825. The next closing date for receipt of applications is on June 1 and then January 1.
