Win leaves Abbi feeling just ‘nine’

After confirming the F1 Academy title in the previous round in Qatar, Gosberton race ace Abbi Pulling added two more wins to her incredible tally, taking it to a record-breaking nine – coincidentally her race car number.

“I’m so, so happy, it’s been an incredible season,” she said after winning the opening race of the final round in the United Arab Emirates at the weekend. “I can’t thank everyone enough who has got here.”
Pulling (21) also won the second race before completing her season with yet another podium finish in the final race, finishing second to Ferrari’s Maya Weug.
After her second win, Pulling said: “What a way to wrap up my Saturday. To win two races in a row and to add a ninth to my F1 Academy season is amazing. I might change my name to Pullin9!”
The Rodin Motorsport Alpine Academy driver had finished fifth in last year’s championship but was never in danger of being caught this year, finishing on 338 points, 121 clear of second-placed French driver Doriane Pin, with Dutchwoman Maya Weug a further 40 adrift at the end of the seven-round, 15-race season.
