Win for Leeks and top showing from Ivatt at Adrian Flux Arena extravaganza

Spalding’s Ryan Leeks was among the winners at an action-packed Halloween Carnival at the Adrian Flux Arena over the weekend.

Following a torrential forecast for Saturday night, the King’s Lynn meet was postponed a day to the Sunday afternoon – which proved to be absolutely the right decision as the arena basked in a lovely autumnal sunny day.

The change of day didn’t hamper the action at all, with full grids of cars on track and great support with a tremendous crowd who fully immersed themselves in the day.

There was also a large number of kids and families taking part in the fancy-dress parade.

On the track, Ricky Ivatt from Spalding debuted his brand new 1300 Stock Car for action, which looked immaculate as he attempted to defend his under-25 championship.

However, Ivatt took a race to get the car up to speed with teething problems, but finished the day with three excellent top ten finishes in the subsequent races.

In the Unlimited Bangers, Spalding racer Leeks had a great race win in one of the preliminary heats.

It wasn’t easy for the South Holland ace, who had to see off competition from a world champion and King’s Lynn points leader, who was charging him down in second.

Leeks’ car boasted plenty of battle scars by the close, but his win was worth the damage.

The Adrian Flux Arena now takes a break in hosting racing events until December 8.
